Why should we get our curtains/drapes cleaned?


After all, we spend an average of 16 hours a day at home – and even more when aged under 7 and over 64. A surprising amount of moisture – up to 40L per day – often gets in from under the floor and from the atmosphere in Auckland. Moisture on the window does not cause the mould and mildew, although it contributes to the warmth and humidity around the curtain when the sun heats it up. Mould and mildew are known health hazards contributing to many health conditions respiratory disorders, for example asthma. And health is wealth. Do we need to say more?

How often should we get our curtains/drapes cleaned?


Your curtains are the first layer after the windows that interacts with sunlight, dust, odors, moisture and other elements that can deteriorate their appearance over time, and so to lead a healthy life and a well presented home your curtains/drapes should be cleaned at least every 4 months or per season change.

Why can’t we clean by ourselves?


Leave the job for the experienced professionals. You might face discoloration, when you use household chemicals. You might shrink the curtains when you try to wash them in washing machine. And some curtains with thermal backing or nets might get damaged while you try to treat them. Some curtains might have a ‘Dry-Clean’ label but we wash the dirt and grime out of the fabric whereas Dry Cleaning just evens it out. We encounter many disappointed people who have had their curtains dry cleaned only to find that the result is less than satisfactory. Dry cleaning will not remove the Mould stains on the fabric.

How long will the cleaning take?


We work to a strict 48-hours turnaround ensuring as little inconvenience as possible to the customer. But it might go up to 2 to 3 days depending upon the material and condition of the curtains.

Do you clean on-site?


Yes, we clean both on-site and off-site according to your convenience.

How Does it work?


When you place us a call and describe your curtain/drape cleaning requirement; we provide you with a Free No Obligation Quote (either through e-mail or in person)
If you chose Onsite cleaning we come and clean the curtains on the day that you booked us.
If you chose Offsite Cleaning & Our Pick up & Delivery –
We come to pick up the (already removed from windows) curtains/drapes on decided date and drop off the fresh and clean curtains on promised date.
(If you would like us to remove and rehang the curtains/drapes for you it will incur extra charges.)
If you chose Offsite Cleaning & Your own Drop off & Collection –
We advise you about the date you can drop off your curtains/drapes to our warehouse and we will advise you about (after inspecting the curtains) the date you can collect them. Please note that there is a significant discount if you opt for doing your own drop off and collection.

Will there be shrinkage?


All curtain manufacturers will warn of potential shrinkage of between 3 to 5%.  At clean My curtain we cannot guarantee against shrinkage but our system is designed to minimize the risk. But we guarantee that the experienced professionals at Clean My Curtains will clean your curtains/drapes with their expertise and handle the fabric with the utmost care.

What methods of payment do you accept?


We accept cash, cheque and credit card payments. If you chose On-Site Cleaning then you can pay by an Eftpos, cash or cheque. If you wish to pay online, this can be done by prior arrangement.
